My first experience on Substack was horrible!!!!
I almost deleted the app icl
I’ve been in substack for over 3 months now and while it has been mostly good experience one person almost made me crash out on the tl
I was literally in my room like
So I open my messages on Substack and I see this guy messages me and I’m like oh let me reply cause I don’t like leaving people on delivered. That was my first mistake. I opened his dm and I reply him. You know, casual greetings. Then this fool….sorry human being proceeds to ask me what country I’m from ( before then I was trying to explain what Nysc was to him for some reason)
I told him my country. Tell me why his whole countenance changed? He then proceeds to call my country corrupt and all sorts of names and I’m like
I was trying to be the bigger person here so I let it go. Because lowkey tinubu 1 - 0 citizens
okay naw he proceeded to ask my my age and this was where the issue started
I told him my age
With his full hairless chest he said “ oh wow I thought you looked older tho…maybe 40?”
I had to start praying “ father lord get your creation before I get him, because revenge might be for the lord but I am made in his image “
I was half ready to squeeze my hand through the screen and give him a dirty slap that even his great grand mother will feel.
I felt so wronged cause nobody had even even insinuated that I looked older than my age. For the record I am in fact not 40…..just saying.
I typed out the long ass message telling him that he hated himself to comment such hate on someone else and blocked him. I’m glad I was the bigger person. Sometimes I think back…..but imagine I found him and slapped him.
I’m sad to say that I removed my picture from my profile and I changed my name from my full name to ink and echo because of what one 17 year old Indian boy said to me. Very sad. But I got more comfortable with sharing my picture and I love Substack.
Anyways that was the first bad experience I had when I first joined Substack
With love,
Ink and echo 💕
